In ordinary thinking, there is only an eye for opposites, such as that between light and darkness. In this dualistic thinking, there can only be one of the two at a certain place and time: there is light, or there is no light. In Khemitic mythology, the daily dynamic of becoming lighter and then darker was depicted as the battle between two heavenly gods, namely the daily fight between the light-bringing Horus and the darkness-bringing Seth. From sunrise onwards, Horus has the upper hand every day, but after sunset, it is Seth.

Dualistic thinking has brought humanity to where it is today, referring to, among other things, modern technology and university-based science. At the same time, we may experience that this way of thinking keeps us trapped in an incessant cycle, always at the same level. If we want to escape from this, we need a way of thinking that shows us the third force in every phenomenon. This way is Trialectic Thinking.
