Genesis 9:20 – 11:32

The Creation of the Vineyard

The Genuine Bible

9:20 And the human Noë began to be a farmer, and he planted a vineyard.
21 And he drank of the wine, and became drunk, and was naked in his house.
22 And Cham, the father of Chanaän, saw the nakedness of his father. And going forth, he reported it to his two brothers outside.
23 And Sem and Japheth, having taken an outer garment, put it on both their backs and went backwards, and covered the nakedness of their father; and their face was backward, and they saw not the nakedness of their father.
24 And Noë sobered up from the wine, and knew as much as his youngest offspring had done to him.
25 And he said: “Be accursed child Chanaän, a servant will he be to his brothers.”
26 And he said: “Blessed be the Lord God of Sem, and Chanaän will be his household servant.
27 May God make room for Japheth, and let him inhabit in the dwellings of Sem, and let Chanaän be his servant.”
28 And Noë lived after the flood three hundred and fifty years.
29 And all the days of Noë were nine hundred and fifty years, and he died.

The Creations of Noë’s Descendents

10:1 And these are the generations of the sons of Noë: Sem, Cham, Japheth. And sons were born to them after the cataclysm.
2 Sons of Japheth: Gamer, and Magog, and Madai, and Jovan, and Elisa, and Thobel, and Mosoch, and Thiras.
3 And the sons of Gamer: Aschanaz, and Riphath, and Thorgama.
4 And the sons of Jovan: Elisa, and Tharsis, Kitioi, Rodioi.
5 From these were separated the islands of the nations in their land, each according to tongue, in their tribes, and in their ethnicity.
6 And the sons of Cham: Chous, and Mesraïm, Phoud, and Chanaän.
7 And the sons of Chous: Saba, and Evila, and Sabatha, and Regma, and Sabakatha. And the sons of Regma: Saba, and Dadan.
8 And Chous procreated Nebrod; this one began to be a giant upon the earth.
9 He was a giant hunter before the Lord God; therefore, they say: “As the giant hunter Nebrod in front of the Lord.”
10 And the beginning of his kingdom was Babylon, and Orech, and Archad, and Chalanne, in the land of Sennaär.
11 Out of that land came forth Assour, and built Nineve, and the city Rhooboth, and Chalach,
12 and Dasem between Nineve and Chalach: this is the great city.
13 And Mesraïm begot the Loudiïm, and the Enemetiïm, and the Labiïm, and the Nephthaliïm,
14 and the Patrosoniïm, and the Chasloniïm, from where came forth the Phylistiïm, and the Kaphthoriïm.
15 And Chanaän begot Sidona, his first-born, and the Chettaion,
16 and the Jebousaion, and the Amorraion, and the Gergesaion,
17 and the Evaion, and the Aroukaion, and the Asennaion,
18 and the Aradion, and the Samaraion, and the Amathi. And after this, the tribes of the Chananaïon were dispersed.
19 And the boundaries of the Chananaïon were from Sidonos till one comes to Gerara and Gazan, till one comes to Sodomon and Gomorras, Adama and Seboïm, as far as Lasa.
20 There were the sons of Cham in their tribes according to their tongues, in their countries, and in their ethnicity.
21 And to Sem himself also were children born, the father of all the sons of Eber, the brother of Japheth the greater.
22 Sons of Sem: Ailam, and Assour, and Arphaxad, and Loud, and Aram, and Kaïnan.
23 And sons of Aram: Os, and Oul, and Gather, and Mosoch.
24 And Arphaxad begot Kaïnan, and Kaïnan begot Sala. And Sala begot Eber.
25 And to Eber were born two sons; the name of the one is Phaleg, because in his days the earth was divided, and the name of his brother is Jektan.
26 Jektan procreated Elmodad, and Saleph, and Asarmoth, and Jarach,
27 and Odorra, and Aizel, and Dekla,
28 and Abimeël, and Sabeu,
29 and Ouphir, and Evila, and Jobab; all these were the sons of Jektan.
30 And their dwelling was from Masse, till one comes to Saphera, a mountain of the east.
31 These were the sons of Sem in their tribes, according to their tongues, in their countries, and in their nations.
32 These are the tribes of the sons of Noë, according to their generations, according to their nations: of them were the islands of the nations scattered over the earth after the cataclysm.

The Creation of the Confusion

11:1 And all the earth was one lip, and one speech to all.
2 And it came to pass in their moving away from the rising, they found a plain in the land of Sennaär, and they dwelt there.
3 And a human said to his neighbor: “Come, let us make bricks and bake them in fire.” And to them, the brick became as stone. And pitch was their clay.
4 And they said: “Come, let us build to ourselves a city-state and tower, whose top shall be unto the heaven. And let us make to ourselves a name, before being scattered upon the face of all the earth.”
5 And the Lord came down to see the city-state and the tower, which the sons of the humans built.
6 And the Lord said: “Behold, there is one kind, and one lip for all, and they have begun to do this. It shall now not fail from them, all as much as they might attempt to do.
7 Come, and going down, let us confound their tongue, that they should not comprehend the voice of each neighbor.”
8 And the Lord scattered them from there over the face of all the earth, and they ceased building the city-state and the tower.
9 Because of this, its name was called ‘Confusion’, because there the Lord confounded the lips of all the earth; and from there the Lord scattered them upon the face of all the earth.

The Creations of Sem

11:10 And these are the generations of Sem: and Sem was a hundred years old when he begot Arphaxad, the second year after the flood.
11 And Sem lived, after he had begotten Arphaxad, five hundred years, and begot sons and daughters, and died.
12 And Arphaxad lived a hundred and thirty-five years, and begot Kaïnan.
13 And Arphaxad lived, after he had begotten Kaïnan, four hundred years, and begot sons and daughters, and died. And Kaïnan lived a hundred and thirty years and begot Sala; and Kaïnan lived, after he had begotten Sala, three hundred and thirty years, and begot sons and daughters, and died.
14 And Sala lived a hundred and thirty years, and begot Eber.
15 And Sala lived, after he had begotten Eber, three hundred and thirty years, and begot sons and daughters, and died.
16 And Eber lived a hundred and thirty-four years, and begot Phaleg.
17 And Eber lived, after he had begotten Phaleg, two hundred and seventy years, and begot sons and daughters, and died.
18 And Phaleg lived a hundred and thirty years, and begot Ragau.
19 And Phaleg lived, after he had begotten Ragau, two hundred and nine years, and begot sons and daughters, and died.
20 And Ragau lived a hundred thirty and two years, and begot Serouch.
21 And Ragau lived, after he had begotten Serouch, two hundred and seven years, and begot sons and daughters, and died.
22 And Serouch lived a hundred and thirty years, and begot Nachor.
23 And Serouch lived, after he had begotten Nachor, two hundred years, and begot sons and daughters, and died.
24 And Nachor lived a hundred and seventy-nine years, and begot Thara.
25 And Nachor lived, after he had begotten Thara, a hundred and twenty-five years, and begot sons and daughters, and he died.
26 And Thara lived seventy years, and begot Abram, and Nachor, and Arran.
27 And these are the generations of Thara. Thara begot Abram, and Nachor, and Arran; and Arran begot Lot.
28 And Arran died in the presence of his father Thara, in the land in which he was born, in the region of the Chaldaion.
29 And Abram and Nachor took to themselves wives, the name of the wife of Abram was Sara, and the name of the wife of Nachor, Melcha, daughter of Arran, and he was the father of Melcha, the father of Jescha.
30 And Sara was barren, and not able to produce children.
31 And Thara took his son Abram, and Lot, the son of Arran, the son of his son, and his daughter-in-law Sara, the wife of his son Abram, and led them forth out of the region of the Chaldaion, to go into the land of Chanaän, and they came to Charran, and he dwelt there.
32 And all the days of Thara in the land of Charran were two hundred and five years, and Thara died in Charran.
