After a lightning bolt struck near him, he left law school, sold his books, and entered Saint Augustine's Monastery in Erfurt on 1505 July 17. On 3 April 1507, the Bishop of Brandenburg ordained Luther in Erfurt Cathedral. In 1508, the first dean of the newly founded University of Wittenberg sent for Luther, to teach theology. He received a bachelor’s degree in Biblical studies on 1508 March 9, and another bachelor’s degree in the Sentences in 1509. On 1512 October 19, he was awarded his Doctor of Theology. And on 1512 October 21, he was received into the senate of the theological faculty of the University of Wittenberg as chair of theology. He spent the rest of his career in this position at the University of Wittenberg. In 1515, he was made provincial vicar of Saxony and Thuringia. This meant he was to visit and oversee each of eleven monasteries in his province. On 1517 October 31, his 95 Theses were published, in which he disputed the declaration of the virtue of indulgences by the Roman Catholic Church. This triggered the birth of the Protestant Reformation. In 1520, Pope Leo X demanded of Martin Luther to renounce his writings, and the next year, in 1521, the Holy Roman Emperor Karl von Habsburg at the Diet of Worms did the very same. Martin Luther’s refusal to do so resulted in his excommunication by this Pope and condemnation as an outlaw by this Emperor. Martin Luther married on 1512 June 27 to Katharina von Bora (1499 January 29 – 1552 December 20), and they had six children: Hans (1526 June), Elizabeth (1527 December 10 – 1528 August 3), Magdalene (1529 May 4 – 1542 September 20), Martin (1531), Paul (1533 January 28 – 1593 March 8); and Margaret (1534). Martin Luther died on 1546 February 18 in his birthplace Eisleben.

Julius Robert Oppenheimer was born on 1904 April 22 in New York City, New York, USA, as one of six sons of Julius Seligmann Oppenheimer (1871 May 12, Hanau, Hessen, Germany – 1937 September 20, New York City, New York, USA) and Ella Friedman (1869 June 27, Baltimore, Maryland, USA – 1931 October 17, New York City, New York, USA). His father Julius S. Oppenheimer was a wealthy Jewish textile importer who had immigrated to the USA from Germany in 1888. As a theoretical physicist, Robert Oppenheimer became professor of physics at the University of California, Berkeley. His most famous doctoral student was David Bohm (1917 – 1992). In 1942, Robert Oppenheimer was appointed as the head of the Los Alamos National Laboratory, New Mexico, USA, to design an “atomic bomb” for the Manhattan Project. Aged 64, he died on 1967 February 18 at Princeton, New Jersey, USA.

Lee Harvey Oswald

Lee Harvey Oswald was born in New Orleans, Louisiana, on 1939 October 18 as the son of World War I veteran Robert Edward Lee Oswald (1896 March 4 – 1939 August 19) and Marguerite Frances Claverie (1907 July 19 – 1981 January 17). Two months prior to Lee’s birth, his father had died of a heart attack. In late 1956, at the age of 17-years old, Lee joined the USA Marines, and obtained his qualifications as an aviation electronics operator. These credentials allowed him to perform basic radar functions, a post that requires above average intelligence. During 1957 and 1958, Lee was stationed at the Atsugi naval air station in Japan, one of the major bases where the CIA flew secret U-2 reconnaissance flights over the Soviet Union. The task of his unit was to use radar to direct aircraft to their targets. In September, 1959, Lee received a dependency discharge from the Marines on the grounds that his mother was injured and needed his care. However, after a three day visit with her, he left for Europe. Supposedly, he was off to attend college for the first time at the Albert Schweitzer College in Zurich, Switzerland. Percival Brundage, the college president, was Eisenhower’s budget director and a staunch advocate of black budget financing for military and intelligence operations. Brundage is also known as one of the two owner-operators of Southern Air Transport, infamous as the “CIA’s airline” in the Caribbean and in Southeast Asia during the 60s and 70s. Lee never made it to Albert Schweitzer College. He changed direction once his freighter docked in France, avoiding the usual visa delays and zipping via the Finnish capital Helsinki through to the Soviet Union in unheard-of time for a USA citizen at the height of the Cold War. Lee arrived in Helsinki on Saturday 1959 October 10. He sought a visa on Tuesday the 13th, obtained it on the 14th, and had crossed the border into the Soviet Union by the 15th. Lee successfully convinced the Soviet authorities that he had defected, while he was in reality a deep-cover CIA agent. In order to remain credible, he married on 1961 April 30 with Marina Nikolayevna Prusakova (born on 1941 July 17), a 19-year-old pharmacology student, whom he met just six weeks earlier. On February 15, 1962, their daughter June was born. Three months later, on 1962 May 24, Lee and Marina applied at the USA Embassy in Moscow for documents enabling her and their daughter to immigrate to the USA, and him to repatriate. In April 1963, Lee approached a promising 19-years old science student who dreamed of finding a cure for cancer. Her name was Judyth Vary Baker, born on 1943 May 15. Although Lee was married, he had several girl friends. Judyth knew this, and she also knew that Lee was a deep-cover CIA agent. After recruiting Judyth as an asset, she got involved in the development of a biological weapon that Lee was to smuggle into Cuba in order to eliminate Fidel Castro. This plan to assassinate this Cuban leader was never carried out. The next (and last) CIA assignment for Lee was to pretend that he was the alleged lone-man shooter of the staged JFK assassination. This assignment came after Lee and Marina got their second daughter. Audrey Marina Rachel Oswald was born on October 20, 1963. On 1796 November 16, he married Eva Hanau. The couple produced no children, to his great sorrow. The sons of his brother, Carl, inherited his Frankfurt business. He was ennobled as Amschel Mayer von Rothschild in 1817, and he became a baron in 1822.

Salomon von Rothschild

Salomon Mayer Rothschild (1774 September 9 – 1855 July 28), son of Mayer Amschel Rothschild (1744 – 1812), married in 1800 Caroline Stern (1782 – 1854). His father send him to Vienna Austria, where he named himself “Salomon von Rothschild”. The bank that he there established, he named “S M von Rothschild”. Salomon and his wife Caroline had two children: Anselm Salomon von Rothschild (1803 January 29 – 1874 July 27), and Betty Salomon von Rothschild (1805 – 1886). While their son married the oldest daughter of Salomon’s brother Nathan in 1826, their daughter married Salomon’s youngest brother James (1792 – 1868). The 62-years old Salomon Mayer Rothschild begot also a child with his housekeeper Maria Anna Schicklgruber (1795 April 15 – 1847 January 7). This baby’s name became Alois Hitler (1837 – 1903), the later father of Adolf Hitler.

Nathan de Rothschild

Nathan Mayer Rothschild (1777 September 16 – 1836 July 28), son of Mayer Amschel Rothschild (1744 – 1812), married on 1806 October 22 in London to Hannah Barent Cohen (1783 – 1850), daughter of Levi Barent Cohen (1783 – 1850), daughter of Levi Barent Cohen (1747 – 1808) and Lydia Diamantschleifer (1752 – 1818), and paternal granddaughter of Barent Cohen from Amsterdam, whose other son Salomon David Barent-Cohen (died in 1807) married Sara Brandes, who were the parents of Henrietta Pressburg (1788 – 1863), who was the mother of Karl Marx (1818 – 1883, see above). George Smith

George Smith was born on 1840 March 26 in Chelsea, London, England. Since 1861, he started to work for the British Museum in London, while he also developed his natural talent for cuneiform studies. In 1863, he married Mary Clifton (1835 – 1883), and they had six children. In 1872, he achieved worldwide fame as an Assyriologist by his translation of the Chaldaean account of the Great Flood. His book about this titled “The Chaldean Account of Genesis” was published in 1876. In that same year, while being on another excavation expedition in Syria, he fell ill with dysentery.
